1. Too much detail

A credible logo has to be both minimalistic and extravagant at the sametime. The icons that are less complicated are the most recognisable so spend time on simplifying your logo.

2. Duplicating

While it is not deplorable to be inspired by other brands, it is important to avoid imitation. Imitators in invite a lot of trouble and this usually leaves a company in in a critical position. Your main goal is to let your work stand out.

3. Font-flooding

One or two fonts is most appropriate to easily convey a clear message. More than two fonts can result in an unified text. So don't get carried away with different typefaces.

4. Following trends

Trends come and go therefore don't worry too much about them. It can however be necessary to adapt recent concepts and technics.

5. Too much colour

Colour is important but it is a secondary concern. Too many colours will cause confusion to the eye thus making your brand less recognisable. It is best to use only a few colours that will form part of the logo and not just a patch of colour.

Logos are intended to resemble the company. Therefore it is important to do extensive research and thorough considerations of the company. The brand should be able to portray a summary of the whole. This preparation will assist you in creating a significant logo.

2. Uniqueness

You have to aim for something different. Another mediocre piece of work will not be very influential. Think out of the box and you will produce a logo out of the ordinary that will stand out among others.

3. Get geared

Spend enough time to develop your idea and see what works and what doesn't. It is important to be acquainted with the colour theory and also choose your font wisely. Have a number of prototypes from which you will choose the best.
